The Popoyo Surf Lodge is located in Playa Guasacate, just outside of Las Salinas in the Rivas province of Nicaragua. While surfing is the main attraction, there is much more to do in the area! By chance that the waves are small, our guides will take you out for the day to enjoy some of the other activities and natural attractions that Nicaragua has to offer: Local hot springs, the markets in Masaya, historic sites in Granada, deep sea fishing, Lake Nicaragua, Volcan Mombacho, canopy tours and much more!

All Surf Tours include:

• Airport greeting and roundtrip transfers to Popoyo Surf Lodge.
• 7 days of surfing and 6 nights of accommodations in a Casita.
  • Casitas include separate bedroom and living room, 3 full-sized beds, hot water, private bathroom, Central A/C and Direct TV.
• Use of the luxurious Popoyo Surf Lodge facilities including: swimming pool, lounge with Direct TV, VCR, DVD, CD Stereo, surf videos, movie library, ping pong and pool table and a guarded surfboard storage area.
• 3 meals per day. Our meals and desserts are prepared under supervision of our culinary chef in a clean sanitary kitchen, using only the highest quality food available in the country. If your taking the boat, we make sure and pack all the necessary provisions and lunch is included.
• Bottled water and soft drinks. (Beers and smoothies extra)
• New for 2007! The Popoyo Surf Lodge is equipped with an 8,500 Kilowatt Generator and is the only hotel in this region of Nicaragua that is ready for the frequent power outages that occur here. This investment was made to ensure that our guests will have comfortable rooms with air conditioning during their stay.
• * Rates include 15% I.G.V. tax to Nicaraguan government and 18% commission to travel company.
• Full-day surf tours by truck or boat (depending on conditions).
• Daily boat trips onboard superpanga w/center console, roof, lunch.
• Boats are fully outfitted for offshore fishing.
• ** Option for tow-in surfing with the Lodge's 2 Yamaha Waverunners.

Bring extra cash for the following additional services (not included in tour pricing)

• $15 per week for Internet access
• $1 per minute for phone calls
• A massage therapist is on staff and available upon request.
• Beers and Smoothies
• Spending money for the markets in Masaya
• Visiting the Cloud Forest in Volcan Mombacho
• Surf Photos - Surf guide John Matthews is available per request to shoot photos. He charges $150 for the week. This service is offered seperately from the services provided by the Popoyo Surf Lodge and we do not recieve any of the proceeds.

Tour Notes:

The package price does not include airfare, however, Wavehunters can and will arrange flights using its lowest contracted air rates with Taca and other major carriers from all US cities. Boat trips will operate only during safe sea and weather conditions, there are no refunds for unused boat trips due to weather conditions, as 4x4 tours will be substituted.
